Travertine is a terrestrial limestone rock shaped by drizzle of calcium carbonate around hot spring. Evaporation of carbon dioxide in the spring water causes the formation of holes in the stone.

For centuries, Travertine has been used for building construction. Roman Colosseum, Basilique Du Sacre Coeur, Cathedral of Pisa and Theatre of Marcellus are some of the iconic buildings and monuments where travertine was used and today these buildings have passed many centuries.
